The growing spread and performance of modern information and communication technologies produces an ever-increasing amount data .It is one of the central challenges of our time to extract meaningful information from these data sets. The approach to address these issues, often called data science, combines strategies and methods from the fields of machine learning, mathematics, state estimation, visualization and pattern recognition. During this seminar, the students will familiarize themselves with concepts and methods particularly focusing on estimation theory and its application The seminar targets master students in computer science and bachelor students in Information engineering and management. |

Introductory Session
This course will outline the seminar’s schedule and provide guidance on preparing the written paper and the academic presentation. The introductory session will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 15:45 to 17:45 in Room 148, Building 50.20.
Required Work
To successfully complete the course, students must fulfill the following requirements:
- A 15-minute presentation followed by a discussion
- Written paper (5 pages, typeset in LaTeX in a 2-column format)
- Attendance at all courses
